3 Day guided 4WD safari of Fraser Island
Explore the World Heritage wilderness of Fraser Island with an experienced guide. Walk through the Fraser Island towering rainforest growing in sand, discover huge sandblows moving across the island. Swim in beautiful fresh water lakes, wade in fast flowing creeks, drive along the world's most beautiful beach highway and marvel at coloured sand formations.
![]() Day one Drive from Brisbane to Fraser Island through Noosa to Rainbow Beach, via the Noosa River cable ferry, Teewah Beach, the wreck of the Cherry Venture and the Cooloola Coloured Sands or, when the tide is high, through the Cooloola National Park. After lunch at Rainbow Beach the 4WD coach takes the vehicle barge from Inskip Point to Fraser Island and drives along the beach, then through beautiful eucalypt forest to Lake McKenzie. Swim in the clear blue waters and soak up the sun on the white sandy beaches. Then travel on to Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village to check into your Wilderness Lodge.
![]() Day two Explore Lake Wabby, an impressive emerald green barrage lake being slowly engulfed by Hammerstone Sandblow. Then drive along the world's most amazing highway, Seventy-Five Mile Beach. Visit the magnificent "Valley of the Giants" with your special guide. Majestic satinay and brushbox tower over an understorey of palms and rainforest plants. Certainly the most impressive forest on sand anywhere in the world. See the coloured sand formations at the Pinnacles and the famous Maheno ship wreck and then to swim in the fast flowing, clear, fresh water of Eli Creek.
![]() Day three Time to explore and enjoy Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village. Relax by the swimming pools, spa and outdoor bars - or discover the splendour of the garden decks, boardwalks, coffee and speciality shops in this multi award winning eco resort.
![]() Adventurous? - perhaps keep to the nature theme of Kingfisher Bay by exploring the Great Sandy Strait beaches or bushwalking on self- guided tracks to the 'Lookout.' Other activities include, bird watching, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Return to Noosa and Brisbane via the Kingfisher Bay Ferry or return directly to Hervey Bay. (Tides and ferry times permitting.)
