For dedicated “Robinson Crusoes” there’s the option of camping on this uninhabited jewel with transfers from Port Bundaberg and the Town of 1770. A permit must be obtained for camping.

On Heron you can swim straight off the beach to an endless garden of coral bursting with beautifully coloured fish. But it’s what you don’t see around Heron that makes the resort so special. You won’t see any buildings above the tree line. And you won’t see any day trippers either. Because too many buildings and too many people would put too much pressure on the delicate balance of nature.
